TASTING NOTE
Boldest Red is a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon: rich and dark red with a ripe blackberry palate and a lingering cherry finish.
Vintage: 2024 – ABV: 13%

The wine is made by Vinícola de Castillo with the final blend selected by a team led by winemaker Immaculada Pérez. Vinícola de Castillo is in Manzanares, a wine town surrounded by the landscape of windmills and castles which has changed little since Cervantes was inspired by it to write Don Quixote de La Mancha – widely acknowledged as the world’s first literary work in novel form – in 1605.

A further curiosity is Bar El Porche, five minutes from Vinícola. Venture inside and you will find photos of Iron Maiden proudly displayed on the walls from when the band called in for an impromptu glass or two during the Spanish leg of their 1996 The X Factour world tour. Various Iron Maiden flags hang from the ceiling, now joined by bottles of Eddie’s Blend Boldest Red which were gifted to the bar from the first bottling-run, and which are proudly displayed by the bar owner.
